Sustaita Architects is an architectural firm which has been in existence since 1982. Our former company name at inception was Gele/Sustaita A.I.A., inc. In 1987, our current firm and company name was established. During the last twenty years we have provided services to clients within the Houston area, sixteen states nationally and three foreign countries. Operating from our Houston base, we offer services which include feasibility studies, project programming and architectural design through contract administration.
Our project type experience has varied, but has been exclusively within the commercial building sector including multi-story office buildings, retail centers, fitness centers, amusement parks, waterparks, restaurants, amphitheaters, theaters and educational buildings. The majority of our experince has been in amphitheater and theater design, which involves the design of venues for live performances. Due to that experience, in 1996 we were sought out and retained to design an amphitheater for the Sultan of Brunei.
During the last ten years our architectural practice preference has been within the educational and entertainment fields. In the past few years we have completed several projects for HISD which include two district offices, a charter academy, campus renovations at two different schools and a new elementary school which was 80,000 sq. ft. of new space and 10,000 sq. ft. of remodel. As a result, Sustaita Architects has an excellent relationship with HISD's management personnel. Our working philosophy is keyed to the attributes required to fulfill our client's project needs. As a service oriented firm we execute all project phases while maintaining close advisory and informative communications with the client.
